NORTHWICH band The Shallow Call are starting the new year with a bang by supporting 90s indie stars Dodgy for the launch of a nationally acclaimed club night.

The Rudheath group will be second headliners on the bill at MoHo in the Northern Quarter of Manchester on Friday, January 23.

It will be Dodgy’s first live performance after 10 years away from the gig scene. The band hit number 19 in the UK charts in 1995 with Staying Out For The Summer, and reached number 4 with Good Enough in ‘96.

The This Feeling night has moved up to Manchester from London, where it attracted big names such as Kasabian, and will now launch at the trendy Tib Street venue, owned by Embrace frontman Danny McNamara.

Also appearing on the launch night will be former Stone Roses guitarist Aziz Ibrahim, who co-wrote the first Ian Brown album, with his band The Logicals.

This Feeling has been described by Oasis frontman Noel Gallagher as a “colossal clubnight”, while MoHo was voted as club of the year by The Sun newspaper’s entertainment editor.

Shallow Call guitarist Richard Rogerson said the band were looking forward to returning to the venue after their successful New Year’s Eve gig there.

He said: “We hope that our Northwich fans make the short journey down the M56 so we can start 2009 with another special gig that we expect will be sold out.”

Advanced tickets are priced at £6 and are available from www.myspace.com/theshallowcall and www.size.bigcartel.com. Doors open at 8pm and the night runs until 3am.
