SIX months after losing her sister-in-law to breast cancer, a mum from Childer Thornton has raised more than £10,000 to battle the disease.

As a tribute to Lila, who died in August, Suzy Young has made it her mission to raise as much money as possible for Breakthrough Breast Cancer.

In October she staged her first fundraiser – a charity auction raising more than £6,000 for the charity’s Go Pink Campaign.

And on Thursday Suzy hosted a star-studded evening at the Blundell Street Supper Club, Liverpool – adding a further £2,884 to the charity’s funds and taking the total raised since August to £10,184.

The event, compered by comedian Ben Lawes, included performances from Liverpool girl band The Regrettes and a charity auction, with prizes donated by Marco Pierre Whit Bar and Grill, Liverpool and Everton football clubs and more.

Television presenter and former Hollyoaks actor Terri Dwyer and stars of E4’s Desperate Scousewives also turned out to show their support for the cause.
