BUSINESSES in Cheshire could save large sums of money by becoming more resource efficient, according to Groundwork Cheshire.

The charity’s e3 business service, which works to improve the quality of the local environment and the success of local business, is offering companies free resource efficiency audits of their premises.

Groundwork Cheshire manages a £1m investment into services that can help businesses identify substantial savings on heating bills, waste management, raw materials, energy and environmental efficiency.

Cheshire companies already benefiting from energy savings include Crewe Alexandra Football Club, which has identified a potential saving of £15,000 by using rainwater to create a cheaper alternative source of water for its sprinkler and irrigation system.
