COLWYN Bay are aiming for the Conference within five years after revealing a new five-man board charged with pushing the Llanelian Road club out of the Unibond League.

The intention of the new management team is to work with the existing directors to formulate a structure that will help move the club forwards

Voted in by shareholders at the clubs recent AGM, four of the new directors are members of the Cartwright family.

Geoff Cartwright will take over as new club chairman, while sons Martin and Darren and former Wales under-21 and Wrexham goalkeeper Mark Cartwright have all joined the board, along with Alan Jones, who is a qualified accountant.

“We have a big challenge ahead of us, but if we work as a team both on and off the pitch we can take this club forward.” said new chairman Geoff Cartwright.

“We want promotion next season and we have every confidence in manager Gary Finley that he can achieve that.

“A successful football club can benefit the whole area.

“We want to get the community involved in helping to achieve that by inter-acting with the youth and schools and getting local community groups to come and use the clubhouse facilities here.”
