WORKS by Renoir, Monet, Degas and Rodin are among some of the artists to be featured in a significant new exhibition for 2009 at the Lady Lever Art Gallery next March.

In an international exchange with Nationalmuseum Stockholm, French Impressionists will run from February 20 to May 31 at the Port Sunlight gallery.

Displaying 13 treasured works from a selection of impressionist and post-impressionist pieces from National Museums Liverpool’s Walker Art Gallery collection and Sweden’s premier museum of art and design, French impressionists will be unique to the Lady Lever.

Displayed together for the first time, works include Monet’s The Break Up of the Ice on the Seine and Renoir’s Young Parisian Lady.

A selection of bronze sculptures will also be displayed, including two Rodin pieces from the Walker Art Gallery and two examples of Degas’ ballet dancer series from Stockholm’s collection.

Lady Lever Art Gallery is open every day from 10am-5pm. Admission is free.
