JUNIOR environmental officers from Ellesmere Port and Neston have been issued with challenges for the year.

The newly elected officers attended a launch event at Chester Town Hall, where they were briefed on challenges which include getting members of the school involved in fun activities such as running competitions, organising litter picks and rubbish-free lunches, designing posters and recycling Christmas cards.

Cllr Lynn Riley, executive member for community and environment, said: “The children have received their learning packs and have been coached how to deliver assemblies about the service through games and competitions – basically lots of fun things to do so everyone can join in and make a difference.

“Here’s to a very successful year ahead to one and all.”
