Celebrations as West Cheshire College project makes it to Portobello Film Festival
Creative media students from West Cheshire College have been credited on popular film website IMDB for their involvement in a short film.
The film, Exam Results Day, produced and directed by GOSH! Productions Ltd, is a story about a boy who fails all of his exams and is currently being submitted to film festivals worldwide.
Hannah Quinn, owner of GOSH! Productions Ltd and a tutor at West Cheshire College, said: “I got the students involved in the filming as I thought that it would be a good opportunity for them to gain some fantastic experience on a real film production.”
Student James France, 17, from Chester, who was the production manager and stage supervisor for the film, said: “I met a lot of new people working on the film and it really improved my communication skills. You learn a lot from being involved in hands-on projects like this – it is much better than being in the classroom.”
The students were also asked to film an event at Chester Racecourse for Nantwich Christie Hospital Support Group, a group that fundraised for the Manchester cancer research centre.
The film was used to promote the funding activities of the support group on their website.
The film has got into the Portobello Film Festival in London and four students involved in the project will be going to represent the film.
