A year 8 tutor group at Upton-by-Chester High School decided that they wanted to show their support for the Macmillan nurses and held their very own cake sale to support the Macmillan coffee mornings.

Students all contributed their own cakes and raised £75 to go towards the excellent work Macmillan do.

Their form tutor Karen Smale told us “ I am really pleased that the students, who organised this themselves, chose to get involved.

Macmillan do a remarkable job in our communities. We always encourage our students to think of the needs of others and offer their support where they can. This just shows how the school’s global ethos of concern for all as citizens is put into practice”

On Friday October 18 the school also showed their support for the Orangutans in association with Chester Zoo as part of their support for world conservation. All the students and staff wore an item of orange clothing and donated £1.
