RESIDENTS of Ellesmere Port care homes will celebrate the royal wedding in style on the big day.

Bunting will be hung, big TVs will be watched and flags will be waved as Prince William and Kate Middleton say their vows.

For the residents who have lived through the weddings of Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip, Prince Charles and Princess Diana, then Prince Charles and Camilla, the day will be filled with reminiscence and tales of where they were for their seventh and who they watched with.

Astbury Lodge in Great Sutton is hosting a traditional street party and residents will watch the ceremony on a big screen surrounded by union jack flags and red, blue and white bunting.

Then they will feast like royalty with a luxury buffet and a traditional wedding cake. Favours have been made for the ladies and champagne will be available for all.

Whetstone Hey in Great Sutton will also be transformed into a sea of red, blue and white decorations.

Dressed in their Sunday best, residents will watch the ceremony from their living room, waving their union jack flags and in the afternoon there will be a barbecue, music and drinks.
