A FUN-PACKED programme of Easter-themed events is taking place at Blue Planet Aquarium during the bank holiday weekend.

Visitors will be able to take part in a host of themed activities.

Staff will be dressed as ‘egg-plorers’, there will be an egg-themed trail around the displays, an Easter arts and crafts workshop, children’s story time and the chance to meet real rabbits in a ‘pets corner’.

Rabbit rescuer Sue Cornick will give a series of talks and demonstrations covering a huge range of bunny-related topics, including welfare, grooming, accommodation, bonding, diet and nutrition, fun and games for bunnies and health checks.

There will be the opportunity to see Blue Planet’s own ‘Dive Bunny’ – complete with floppy ears and basket – in action as she takes the plunge to go in search of shark and ray eggs in the Caribbean Reef display.

The plan is for the bunny to collect as many types of shark and ray egg cases during her dive as she can.

The eggs will then go on display in special nursery tanks, where visitors will be able to watch them grow, develop and, eventually, hatch into babies.
