AN INTERNET auction site could be about to take Nightingale House Hospice into cyberspace.

Two enterprising teenage brothers have launched an eBay sales service that will also raise funds for Nightingale House.

Peter Lloyd, 19, and brother Alastair, 15, have created Auctionhere.co.uk to sell anyone's items on the eBay auction site.

They launched the service on Tuesday in one of the Nightingale House shops, where there will be an Auctionhere collection counter. In return, the hospice receives an equal share of the commission.

Auctionhere removes the hassle of dealing with eBay by completing the administration forms, advertising items, monitoring bidding, processing the sale, packaging and dispatching the item to the buyer and collecting the money for the seller. There are no up-front fees and commission - 33.3% - is only paid if the item sells. Commission covers VAT, all postage and packaging and all eBay-related fees. A smaller commission is charged on higher-value items and motor vehicles are sold on a fixed-fee basis.

After living with their family in California for several years, Peter and Alastair, of Morda, Oswestry, developed the business idea last summer while selling their own unwanted goods on eBay.

'More and more people are using eBay every month,' said Peter. 'Many people have told us they would sell items but they don't have the time to deal with all the fuss of selling on eBay, but they would be happy to pay a commission to someone to take away the hassle and sell it for them. We offer that safe and convenient service.'

Nightingale House Hospice Corporate and Trust fundraiser Jo Young said: 'Auctionhere is a valuable service that benefits the customer and the hospice.

'It provides a safe and convenient personal service that advertises to 125 million worldwide buyers. When the item sells, the vendor earns money and helps the hospice.

'We expect that this new service will encourage donations from members of the public who don't currently give to the hospice, so it will generate extra income for us.'
