BRITISH Transport Police have confirmed the body of a 41-year-old man has been discovered near the tracks at Goostrey Railway Station.
They say the married man, from the Goostrey area but yet to be named, was found south of the Crewe-bound platform at 5pm on Tuesday, September 18.
He had sustained serious head injuries and is believed to have been hit by a train.
A train driver for First North West trains made the discovery as he made a stop at the station.
Inquiries into his death are continuing. An inquest date has not yet been set.
