Bishops High School pupil beat off competition from 500 hopefuls
Chester youngster Elle Smith has been signed up by a national talent agency, Top Talent.
The 12-year-old pupil of Bishops High School, Chester, who has been a member of Razzamataz Theatre School for two years, first applied via an online application to Top Talent Agency, which is based in London.
Elle was selected for the second round and invited to a workshop at the Raddison Hotel, Manchester, where she was up against about 500 other hopefuls.
The workshop audition included, group work, script work and time in front of the camera as well as a catwalk.
Razzamataz principal Claire Larkin said: “These auditions are really valuable experiences for youngsters, it’s an insight into the world which so many of them want to be a part of.”
The news came that Elle had been successful and it was a double celebration for the youngster.
She said: “I was so excited, especially as it was on my birthday.”
Elle, who wants to train at drama school in the future and hopefully have a career as an actress, played a lead part in Razzamataz’s end-of-year show last year and wowed audiences with her singing voice and excellent stage presence.
She has also performed on the West End with Razzamataz Chester in their 12th anniversary Gala Performance.
She has since been invited to Manchester for a photo shoot and her portfolio will go live in October.
She added: “I’m glad that I’ve gone to Top Talent because you never know what might happen in the future.”
