A FAMILY dispute led to a man striking his landlady's door several times with an axe.

George Simon Patterson, 19, admits causing £100 damage to the door belonging to Christine Biggs.

Appearing before Chester District Judge Philip Dodd, Patterson also admitted causing £150 damage to a 4ft by 3ft pane of glass at her house.

Prosecutor Simon Schwarz said: 'Patterson, his mother and brother Andrew live in Overpool Road, Ellesmere Port. The property is owned by Mrs Biggs.

'George Patterson was locked out and trying to get in. Then he threw a stone at the window and broke it.

'The brothers had an argument and George Patterson then struck a door five or six times with an axe.

The case was adjourned for pre-sentence reports to November 5.
