KIRSTY Hughes’ outstanding contribution to her school has been recognised with a National Bursar Association award.

The learning support assistant at Ellesmere Port Specialist School of Performing Arts was honoured at a ceremony in London.

She scooped the National Learning Support Assistant of the Year award.

Assistant headteacher Cath Green said: “Kirsty truly deserves this award. Her commitment, enthusiasm and expertise in supporting the pupils at EPSSPA is tireless.

“On top of her day-to-day job, Kirsty has been instrumental in establishing EPSSPA as an eco-school, supports a variety of enrichment activities and is a school governor. We are all very proud of her.”
