RESIDENTS at an Ellesmere Port care home enjoyed a pamper session to celebrate the national Dignity in Action Awareness Day.

Staff at Astbury Lodge in Great Sutton treated residents to an afternoon of pampering and relaxation, including facials, massages, manicures and foot spas, to celebrate dignity and well-being in the care home.

After the therapeutic experience, residents dined at a high tea, including triangle sandwiches and cream cakes, shared with friends and family invited to the occasion.

Jim Leslie, husband of Astbury Lodge resident Betty Leslie, said: “It is very important to Betty that she retains her dignity while being cared for at the home.

“She likes to keep her hair and nails looking pretty, and she thoroughly enjoyed being pampered.”

Astbury Lodge manager Janice Johnson said: “It was wonderful to have the residents’ friends and family there to help celebrate Dignity in Action Day, and everyone had a wonderful time.”
