WINSFORD police have issued an appeal for witnesses after an attempted abduction over Christmas.
Investigating officer Det Con Jim Hendry said a man in a white Ford transit van pulled over alongside a woman walking on Woodford Lane at around 10.45pm on Saturday, December 27.
“He grabbed the 19-year-old by the neck and began pulling her towards the van,” said a police spokeswoman. “The woman struggled free from his grip and the man got back into the van and drove off.
“Fortunately the victim received only minor injuries, but was left in a state of shock.”
The attacker, who is white, is thought to be about 25-years-old. He is around 5ft 6ins tall and of skinny build, with short black hair and “thick black bushy eyebrows”.
