WREXHAM'S Assembly Member, Lesley Griffiths, has spoken out against bullying in Wrexham schools as part of an anti-bullying week.

The theme of this year's week long campaign is called, Being different, belonging together.

By law all schools must have an anti-bullying policy, but the message is that these policies should be reviewed regularly.

This year, the Welsh Assembly Government is promoting a whole school approach, to ensure children and young people have the best opportunity to enjoy their education without fear of intimidation.

Ms Grifftiths AM said: “We all know from our childhood, the awful effects that bullying can have, either on one's self as a victim or by witnessing bullying on others.

“I am proud to be backing this year’s Anti-Bullying Week to help pupils and parents stamp out this unacceptable behaviour.”

She added: “I have backed this campaign by calling for all sectors in Wales to engage in efforts to address bullying in all forms.”
