A WITNESS appeal has been launched after a woman was seriously injured in a crash in Neston this morning. (January 10)
Just before 7.50 am police and other emergency services were called to a report of a road traffic collision at the junction of Chester High Road and Liverpool Road, Neston.
The collision involved a green Toyota Hilux and a red Citroen Saxo.
The driver of the Saxo, a 51-year-old woman from the Wallasey area, sustained serious head injuries and is currently being treated at Arrowe Park Hospital.
Fire crews had to remove the roof and the windscreen to release her from the vehicle.
The A540 was closed northbound and traffic diversions were in place until 10.30am to allow scene examination and recovery of the vehicles to take place.
