King's School Juniors gave an outstanding performance at the annual Chester Competitive Festival of Performing Arts (Speech and Drama Festival).

More than 50 took part, winning six classes, and achieving a ‘top three’ place in 11 classes.

In the Junior Scene category, King’s were first for Carrie’s War , second for Midsummer Night’s Dream and third for Kensuke’s Kingdom. King’s has won this class for the fifth year in succession.

Will Thompson achieved first place in the Monologue class.

Freya Walsh was second and Luke Mulholland third for Year 6 poetry.

In the Year 3/4 Spiritual Reading class, Brona Halpin was first and Limonee Fearn came second.

In the Year 5/6 Spiritual Reading class/Rees Trophy, Mansi Gupta was first in the class and Partap Shergill came in second place.

In the Year 3 Prepared Reading class/Chester Festival Cup, Lloyd Bennett achieved first place, Louis Roberts second and Limonee Fearn third.

In the Year 3 Sight Reading Class, second place was achieved by Duncan Boyd and Rohith Muthuvelu.

Charlie Marshall came second in the Year 3 Set Poem class.

Will Saul came first and Millen Batra second in the Year 3 Poem class.

In the Year 5 Reading class, Eden Hambelton-Davies came second place Calum McCaig third.

In the Year 6 Reading class, Luke Mulholland came second.

In addition, two King’s Senior School students enjoyed success.

AS drama and theatre studies student Marissa Landy, won first prize at the Festival for her portrayal of Volumnia in a monologue taken from William Shakespeare’s Coriolanus and Edward Ramsey came third with a portrayal of King Henry in Shakespeare’s Henry IV, Part II.
