Who was the hero in your family?

If you had family members who fought in the war, what better way to remember them and even find out more about them at a new event at Chester’s History and Heritage Centre on Saturday, July 2?

To commemorate the Battle of the Somme, the centre is hosting a free event together with the Family History Society of Chester which will include information about past veterans, memorabilia, photographs and even the opportunity to research your own ancestors to find out what they did in the First World War.

The event starts from 11am-4pm so why not come along and start your journey of discovery back to the darkest days of 1916 and find out what happened to the soldiers, nurses and auxiliary workers as well as the families they left behind.
