Nostalgia: The Chester haunts you may have forgotten

Remember these?

Chester has many shops, restaurants and cafes today, but for those of you who have lived in the city for many decades, do you ever feel nostalgic for some old familiar haunts?

The Facebook page for Chester History & Heritage Centre often post forgotten gems, and we have published some of them here with their kind permission.

Some include the Jack Toner shoe shop on Northgate Street which was a popular choice for fashionistas in the 1960s, the Jade Cantonese restaurant which was a firm favourite for diners in the 1980s and Phillipson & Golder, where schoolchildren of the 1960s would buy their school equipment.
