Firefighters battled a house fire in Winsford in an attempt to stop a blaze spreading to neighbouring properties.

At around 11.25am today (Monday, March 3) emergency services were called to a terraced house on Longmynd Rise after reports of a fire at a property.

Around 12 firefighters were at the scene of the blaze attempting to clear thick smoke from the property and secure neighbouring buildings, after the fire ripped through the two-storey building’s roof.

No one is thought to have been hurt in the fire, which saw crews travel from Winsford, Northwich and Middlewich fire stations.

Police were also at the scene.

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used house reels and a main water jet to extinguish flames on the roof of the house.

All residents are said to be accounted for and firefighters have isolated gas and electrical supply in the property.
