A recent celebration event held by local mental health trust CWP has recognised some of its longest serving staff who have together achieved an astonishing 3,004 years of service in the NHS.
More than 100 staff from Cheshire and Wirral Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (CWP) who had worked for the organisation for 20 years or more were invited to join the trust’s chief executive and chairman to shine a light on their achievements at the Recognition of Service event in Ellesmere Port.
CWP chairman Mike Maier said: “It was a privilege to host an event that recognises the staggering commitment that these staff members have shown.
“They have dedicated their careers to ensuring that vulnerable people in our communities receive the best possible care and support. What they have achieved cannot be overestimated, and I’m thrilled to be able to thank them face to face.”
Following the event, Karen Podmore, a community mental health practitioner celebrating more than 30 years of service with the Trust, said: I was proud to be a part of a day celebrating so many people’s long service to CWP.
“It was a reflection of our loyalty and support for CWP and shows just how well staff here work together.”
'An honour to applaud them personally'
CWP chief executive Sheena Cumiskey said: “I’m always so proud of the commitment shown by all our staff to delivering outstanding care for those who access our services. Being able to sustain this compassion and courage for so long is a testament to the character of everyone we’re celebrating today.
“These colleagues fully deserve their time in the spotlight and it’s an honour to applaud them personally at our Recognition of Service event.”
