The Abbey Gate College Chapel Choir have sung evensong in St Paul’s Cathedral, London, for the 27th year.
Seventy members of the choir from the college , based in Saighton, near Chester , took part in the event, which for a number of Year 7 and 8 pupils was their first visit to the famous church.
The choir sang a setting of the canticles in F by George Dyson and the soloists were sixth former Ruby Hart and Year 11 pupil Oliver Smith.
The anthem was the Easter text, Blessed be the God and Father to music by SS Wesley.
The treble soloist was Year 9 pupil Matthew Fesmer.
The organist for the service was former Abbey Gate College student James Kealey, who is now senior organ scholar at Royal Holloway College.
In September he will take up the post of organ scholar at Wells Cathedral.
Director of music at Abbey Gate College Stewart Smith said: “It is always a privilege to perform at such a magnificent venue and one steeped in so much history as St Paul’s Cathedral.
“The children always represent Abbey Gate College wonderfully and we are delighted to have been invited back to perform again in 2017.”
