A YOUNG woman who gives up almost all of her free time to help others has been nominated for a Your Champions award by her proud parents.

Jennifer Beyer, of Oaklea Avenue, Hoole, caught the volunteering bug at the age of 14, when she began working at her local Barnado’s shop.

A decade later, the 24-year-old teaching assistant juggles three part-time jobs with a string of voluntary roles.

As well as working for Cheshire Young Carers in Ellesmere Port, Jenny helps out at the Terrapins, a club for disabled swimmers based at Northgate Arena, and runs a drama workshop at Live! New Scene Youth Club in Newton.

The former Kingsway High School pupil has also taken part in countless fundraising events – many of which she has organised herself – and has previously volunteered for Camp America and Dorin Park School.

Mum Pat, who nominated Jenny with her dad David, said: “She does so much, really I don’t know where to start.

“It’s amazing what she does. Sometimes we worry she does too much, but she loves to be busy and she loves to do something worthwhile.”

Keen athlete Jenny has raised thousands for charity by completing sponsored races, including collecting £2,000 for Children with Leukaemia by running the London Marathon.

And in August she even tackled Mount Kilimanjaro, successfully scaling the dormant volcano in aid of the Countess of Chester Hospital’s Relative Comfort Appeal.

Jenny is currently in training for her latest challenge – running the New York marathon on November 4 in aid of the RSPCA.
