A woman from Cumbria has taken to social media to try and track down the sender of a Christmas card to the woman who used to live in her house.

Emma Athersmith, of Ulverston, has received a card, postmarked Chester and North Wales, every Christmas since the year 2000.

Fifteen years on, she decided to take to Facebook to track down the people sending the card, known only as Helen and Peter, as the intended recipient has since passed away.

She posted: “So, every Xmas since 2000, the lady who lived in my house previously gets a card from “Helen and Peter”. The lady, Anne Brammall-Hood, died in the summer of 2000 and even though they don’t get a card from her, they continue to send her one! There is no address on the envelope, the postmark is Chester and North Wales, please share and help me find Helen and Peter so I can tell them that Anne is no longer with us.”

Emma posted the photograph of the card on December 16 and it has been shared almost 5,000 times.
