STAR judges will crown the cream of the crop in this year’s Lache Has Talent competition final.

X Factor finalist Sami Brookes and Chester FC goalkeeper John Danby will decide who are the most talented youngsters in Lache, as the highlight of this year’s Lache fun day celebrations on July 14.

Community charity Lache Park Limited is busy working to make sure this year’s festival is the best yet.

Auditions are currently being held at St Clare’s Primary School and Lache Primary School.

Lache Has Talent organiser and compère Chris Gentile, from Lache, said of the event: “Once again we are seeing in the auditions that Lache truly does have talent in abundance, and choosing the finalist is proving to be as difficult as ever.”

Tickets for the final are priced £1 per adult, 50p per child and are available from Hawthorn House.

Community radio station Lache FM, which is broadcasting on 87.6 FM from July 11-22, will be covering the event on the day.

Festivities will begin with a parade through the estate, featuring a dragon from Chilaxing Juniors youth club, drummers and Lache FM mascot Lionel the Lache Lion.

Among the other attractions taking place are pony rides, circus skills, an army assault course, falconry, a barbecue, face-painting and a smoothie bike.

Resident and Lache Park Limited volunteer Pat Williams said: “Everyone is very excited about this year’s event. It is always a fantastic family day out with something on offer for young and old.”

Lache FM will provide workshops in radio skills to encourage more local people to join its team of volunteer presenters. For details, visit www.lachefm. org.uk or call 01244 677721.
