NO OBJECTIONS were raised by conservation specialists when plans were put forward for work to a cottage on the city’s outskirts.

The application was put forward at Clare Cottage, Cavendish Road, off Hough Green, by Mr David Jaquiss.

Mr Jaquiss told planning officers at Cheshire West and Chester Council he was seeking to replace the glass roof of a dining room at the two-storey conservation area property with a flat roof, including a lantern.

He also intended to carry out repairs to a conservatory.

The roof would not be visible from Hough Green and the design of the repaired conservatory would be similar to the existing conservatory extension, he said.

Conservation officers did not object but commented on the use of uPVC.

No representations were made by neighbours.

The application would not detract from the overall character of the area, planners believed, and it would not affect the appearance of Cavendish Road.

The character and appearance of the conservation area would be preserved.

As there would be no increase in the footprint of the house, the work would not have any unacceptable, detrimental effect on the amenities of neighbours.

The application was recommended for approval and the council agreed that permission could be granted.
