A PHOTOGRAPHY exhibition by young women from Ellesmere Port and Chester is open at the Boat Museum.

Fifteen exhibitors, many of whom are mothers, have worked with local photographer David Heke to develop a series of images about their lives.

Each photograph tells a story unique to that individual photographer.

The project, organised by Cheshire Youth Federation and funded by Paul Hamlyn, aims to use art to help the young women develop new skills while building their confidence and self-esteem.

Sandra Lewis from Cheshire Youth Federation said: 'We believe that an arts-based informal education approach helps young people with their social and personal development while developing key skills such as problem solving, working with others and communication.'

The exhibition is open until Wednesday, January 10.
