A 41-year-old woman is recovering after a car crash on Manley Lane.

No other cars were involved in the accident on the country lane near Manley at about 2am on Sunday (December 4).

Cheshire Police have now said her injuries were 'minor'.

Initial reports from Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service had indicated they were more serious.

Firefighters treated the woman at the scene before she was taken to hospital.

A Cheshire Police spokeswoman said: "Officers were called to reports of a single vehicle road traffic collision involving a grey Volkswagen Golf on Manley Lane.

"A 41-year-old woman was taken to hospital received with injuries thought to be minor."

Manley Lane stretches between the A56 and Manley Village, running near to the Manley Mere Adventure Trail centre.

Police did have to close the road for a period of time after the crash.
