A woman suffered smoke inhalation following a kitchen fire at a Winsford home on Thursday evening (March 3).

The fire on Wharton Road involved clothes left on top of the cooker.

Although it was already out when firefighters arrived at 6.52pm, the kitchen was filled with smoke.

A spokesperson for Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service said the crew requested an ambulance for one female casualty who was suffering from smoke inhalation.

The patient did not require any hospital treatment, North West Ambulance Service confirmed.
