A CHESTER based firm of architects has celebrated its20th anniversary by expanding a Malpas home it had previously renovated.

In the mid 1990s Mark Willacy and Kevin Horsewood of Willacy Horsewood Architects helped transform a deserted Oldcastle Mill in Malpas into a family home.

Now, almost 20 years later Mark and Kevin have been invited back to the property by the new owners Mike Gillett and his wife Andrea.

They moved in last September with plans for an expansion and decided they wanted the architect who had done the restoration.

Mr Horsewood, a director at Willacy Horsewood, said:“It was fantastic to be invited back to the mill all these years since our first involvement.

“It has been great to assist the owners in personalising the property to their individual tastes and requirements, but still retaining the original features of the mill.”
