The national president of the Masonic Samaritan Fund received an ancient welcome to Chester.

Brigadier Willie Shackell alighted a train at Chester Railway Station to be greeted by Centurion Paul Hartson from the Deva Garrison.

A delegation of Cheshire Freemasons headed by Paul Richards was also present.

Brig Shackell was the guest of Bridgegate Lodge No. 5961 based at Cheshire View in Christleton.

Steven Adcott the Provincial Grand Master of Cheshire presented a number of cheques totalling £12,916 to Brigadier Shackell as part of the fund raising currently ongoing in Cheshire towards the 2016 Festival in support of the Masonic Samaritan Fund
