WEAVER Vale MP Graham Evans and his wife Cheryl declared a new £650,000 luxury touring caravan site open for business.

The region’s caravanners flocked to Lady Heyes Park in Kingsley, near Frodsham, to enjoy the opening ceremony and champagne reception.

Mr Evans said owner Tony Faulkner’s investment in the park was good news for the Faulkner family, park visitors and the region’s economy.

He said: “It’s only because of individuals and entrepreneurs like Tony Faulkner, who take risks during the tough times, that we can drive the economy forward.”

The MP was treated to a demonstration by Dean Worley of Cheshire Falconry and white-tailed sea eagle Arran. He was also presented with a pack of ‘Free As A Bird’ celebratory ales, brewed by Frodsham Micro Brewery.

The new park boasts spaces for 85 touring caravans, an ultra-modern shower and laundry block with under floor heating.

Mr Faulkner said: “I’m delighted to say the opening event was a huge success. I was particularly pleased that so many families were present because Lady Heyes Park is a family caravan site.”

He said the site would offer visitors half-price fees for the rest of the year.
