The first Airbus A320neo has taken to the skies in France.

The aircraft, the wings for which were made in Broughton, lifted off from Toulouse-Blagnac Airport on Thursday, September 25.

It was flown by Airbus experimental test pilots Philippe Pellerin and Etienne Miche de Malleray who were accompanied in the cockpit by test-flight engineer Jean-Paul Lambert.

This aircraft, MSN6101 with registration F-WNEO, started assembly in March of this year, followed by roll-out in July.

Since then, it has undergone various checks and ground tests in preparation for its flight.
