Paul Butler thrilled fans and shoppers with an action packed display at the Port Arcades Shopping Centre ahead of his IBF World Super-Flyweight title fight next month.

Butler, of Great Sutton, challenges champion Zolani Tete at the ECHO Arena in Liverpool as he bids to become the first British fighter in more than 100 years to drop down a weight division to win a second world title.

A packed crowd on Saturday afternoon was treated to in-ring demonstrations from Wirral Community Police Boxing Club's talented amateurs before 25-year-old Butler stepped between the ropes.

Under the watchful eye of his trainer Anthony 'Arnie' Farnell, Butler displayed his full array of skills from his precision, hard-hitting, on the pads to his blurring hand speed and rapid-fire combinations, mixed with fast footwork and multiple angles that marks him out as one of Britain's most exciting and devastating fighters.

Butler said afterwards: "A big thank you to all the fans who came out to support me at the Port Arcades, despite the cold they turned out and it gives me a huge boost knowing that the city is behind me in my bid to become a two-time, two-weight, history making world champion and I will make them proud.

"I promise it will be a lot hotter in the Liverpool Echo Arena on Friday, March 6, when I face Tete. No doubt about it, he's a good, tough and strong world champion, African fighters are known as warriors and this guy is one hard fighter. With the city behind and my undeniable will to win, I know that I can bring this title back with me."

Tickets for the fight, which will be shown live on BoxNation, are available from the ECHO Arena Box Office or telephone 0844 8000 400.
