VETERAN, vintage and classic cars took part in the 13th Walled Towns Trail Run in a dual start from Chester and Beaumaris.

Cars from every decade from 1900 to 1970 were represented, the oldest being a 1907 Paterson 30 and the youngest a 1973 Triumph Stag.

The cars starting in Chester were flagged away by the Lord Mayor of Chester, Councillor Eleanor Johnson and then travelled through Llay, Mold, Ruthin, and Llanbedr.

They then ventured on to Conwy via Denbigh, Betws-y-Rhos and Llandudno to finish at Boblondeb, Conwy.

At the same time those starting from Beaumaris travelled through Caernarfon, Llanberis, Betwys-Coed and Llandudno and joined the others at the finish in Conwy.

On arrival at Boblondeb, The Lord Mayor of Chester and the Mayors of Denbigh, Conwy, Beaumaris and Caernarfon judged the cars in six categories.

The date for next year’s Walled Towns Car Run has provisionally been set for Sunday, September 23 with cars starting from Beaumaris and finishing in Chester.
