Chester dog lovers are being invited to parade their pooch around the park in aid of the Neuromuscular Centre, a charity that supports people with muscular dystrophy, a severe and debilitating muscle wasting condition.
Wag ‘n’ Walk is the NMC’s sponsored dog walk, to be held for the first time at Westminster Park, Chester.
People can participate in a leisurely two-mile stroll around a fully accessible route, followed by a raffle with dog-themed prizes, plus awards for the best dressed and best behaved dogs.
Those who think their canine pal has what it takes to be crowned King or Queen, then join the charity on Saturday, May 17 for a fun afternoon while fundraising for a worthy cause.
Entry is £5 per dog, which includes a goody bag filled with dog treats donated by local pet companies.
To enter, visit www.nmcentre.com or call 01606 861733 for an entry form.
Sponsor forms will also be provided for dogs, but there is no minimum sponsorship requirement to take part.
Over the past two years, Wag n’ Walk sponsored dog walk events across Wirral and Cheshire have helped to raise more than £5,000 for the charity.
Attending this event is one way to support the NMC, which provides services for adults with muscular dystrophy.
These services include physiotherapy, hydrotherapy, training in graphic design and IT, leading to sheltered employment opportunities, support, advice and information for those living with the devastating, deteriorating condition.
The cost of running the charity is £800,000 each year and it is almost entirely reliant on the generosity of individuals to achieve this.
