PART of a Chester landmark has received a makeover after volunteers gave up their time to help the council’s Streetscene officers.
The seven volunteers from Lloyds Bank Asset Finance Group painted the fence at the back of the Amphitheatre to give it a much-needed makeover.
After improvements to the Amphitheatre were completed, Chester Renaissance suggested that this part of the monument was in need of a makeover.
The council’s Streetscene team organised the work using much appreciated community involvement from the Lloyds Bank Group.
Chester Councillor Samantha Dixon said: “The council is extremely grateful to the team from Lloyds Bank Asset Finance who gave up their free time to help.
“The area at the back of the Amphitheatre is now a fitting backdrop to this rare and important monument.”
The Amphitheatre is a Scheduled Ancient Monument owned by English Heritage and managed by Cheshire West and Chester Council.
