A TEENAGER is on the run from police after fleeing from a youth offenders institute.

Heze Perks, 18, walked out of Thorncross youth offenders institute after serving five months of a three-year sentence for robbery and affray outside rural pubs.

Police have launched a search for Perks, formerly of Willington Lane, Duddon.

Perks was described by Judge Roger Dutton as the 'main instigator' of the attacks in March and April last year.

Perks admitted being part of a gang that attacked 17-year-old Tom Roberts outside the Olive Tree Pub in Kelsall on March 12 last year, punching him and stealing his mobile phone.

While on bail for the attack, Perks armed himself with an air rifle and was involved in an altercation at the Shady Oak in Tiverton that left four people injured and two cars severely damaged.

Sentencing him at Chester Crown Court in November, Judge Roger Dutton said: 'You used extraordinary violence.'

Referring to the second attack he added: 'This was an unwarranted attack. The public must be reassured that the courts will support them if you choose to act like this.' nAnyone who sees Heze Perks should call 999.
