OBJECTIONS to the Bolesworth Estate’s plan to build a continuing care retirement community in Tattenhall have come flooding into the council.

Tattenhall’s Bolesworth Estate has applied to build a Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) on the land at Frog Hall Farm, Frog Lane in the village.

Villagers joined forces and formed an 130-strong action group to fight the proposal.

Cheshire West and Chester Council has received more than 35 objections to the plans from local people.

Objections include claims the development is too big, it is not for the elderly people from Tattenhall, the village does not have the infrastructure to support the influx of people, the roads would not cope with increase in traffic and it is inappropriate for the village.

The action group now feels villagers are confused by the Bolesworth Estate who have told residents that the alternative to the CCRC could be housing.

David Linthwaite, of the Tattenhall Action Group, said: “The Frog Hall Farm site is on designated open countryside and as such it is highly unlikely that permission for ordinary housing on the proposed scale would be granted under current planning policy.”

Residents have until Monday to comment on the plans.
