TIVERTON residents are encouraged to use the new bus service in the village by the parish council.

It has taken two years for the parish council to organise the bus which connects Tiverton with the C84 service at Tarporley and Tarvin.

A bus used to stop at Pudding Lane, a mile before the village, and turn down Birch Heath Lane towards Tarporley. It will now carry on through to Tiverton and on to the A49 to Tarporley twice a day.

Council Chairman Roger Cheshire said: “We had to go through a lot of red tape to get the service which goes into Tarporley and Tarvin. We have many elderly people in the village who will find this service very useful, the only problem is that it only goes through the village twice a day.”

Cllr Cheshire added: “I would like to encourage villagers to use the service to keep it going. The service runs from Monday to Saturday. Just flag down the Whitegate Travel bus anywhere in the village, it will be heading in the direction you want to travel.”
