COMMUNITY leaders want to hear from villagers over what to do about replacing a dilapidated wooden bus shelter.

Malpas Parish Council shelved plans for a replacement £3,500 brick built shelter in Chester Road following a cash request from the Recreation Ground Committee for emergency repairs to play equipment.

But an alternative is replacing the shelter with a modern one supplied free of charge by the County Council but may not be in keeping with the conservation area.

Councillor Keith Ebben, told the parish meeting that perhaps having the yellow and perspex shelter might not be such a bad idea.

Cllr Anna Patten said: 'We are putting that one to the community. We want to know if people think we should save up and buy a replacement traditional-style bus shelter or say 'no' and get one of the county council ones.
