A MOTHER of two was found stabbed to death and asphyxiated and her lorry driver husband hanged in their Caughall Road home.

Post mortems concluded on Friday have confirmed the causes of death of HGV driver Paul Knowles, 50, and his wife Gillian, 51, a former area manager for the Co-op pharmacy in Cheshire, who were found by police in their Upton home at midday on Wednesday, May 19, with a note reading ‘PLEASE CALL THE POLICE’ taped to the front door.

Catholic Gillian, who went to St Columba’s Church, Plas Newton Lane, but hadn’t attended in recent years, had two children, Daniel and Phillippa.

Police investigating the deaths have confirmed they are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident.
