WEST Cheshire College learning advisor Julie Hinde has been shortlisted for a national STAR teaching award for her work with the College’s Hospitality and Catering students.

Julie, who has worked at the College for 11 years, is one of just 10 people shortlisted nationally from more than 2,000 nominations for the ‘Teaching, training and learning practitioner’ award and will attend the national finals in London next month.

The annual Quality Improvement Agency STAR awards are designed to recognise and reward the unsung heroes of the further education and skills sector who make a huge difference to the quality of learning.

Julie was nominated by assistant manager Sam Stevens who said: “Julie’s commitment to her students shines through and she will always go the extra mile to help them achieve the high standards needed for a career in this profession.

“We are delighted she’s got through to the national finals and hope that she wins on the night.”
