Part-time model Jessica Page, 20, has high hopes of winning the worldwide competition for being the ‘best of the best’.

Jessica is currently studying for an events management and marketing degree at the UoC and said she has been competing in beauty pageants since she was 17.

She said her preparations are under way for her ‘huge adventure’.

Jessica said: “I am really excited to have been chosen as a finalist for Miss Universe Great Britain this year and will be doing all that I can in the next few months to prepare.

“Miss Universe is one of the biggest pageants in the world and I think it’s going to be a huge adventure as well as a lot of fun.

“The preparation will involve me preparing myself so I am physically in the best shape I can be and emotionally ready to face a hard journey, as you may know Miss Universe wants the best of the best.”

Jessica has previously raised money for Zoe’s Place Baby Hospice, Project Code Red and Cancer Research. Part of the run up to the competition involves raising money for children’s charity Strongbones.

Awards are given to the contestants who can raise the most money for the cause and also the finalist who shows dedication to empowering young women, both as part of the Not In Vain campaign which acknowledges the efforts and calibre of the finalists.

The 2016 Miss Universe Great Britain final will be held in South Wales from July 21-23.
