TWO wheelie bins were set alight in quick succession in Chester city centre.

At about 12.30am on Friday (June 24), a fire was reported behind the Old King’s Head, Lower Bridge Street.

Another was reported, at about 1am, at the back of a solicitors on Nicholas Street Mews.

Firefighters, who arrived on two fire engines for both, suspect they were ignited deliberately.

The bin by the pub was very close to the wall and firefighters feared it could have spread to the building.
