Motorists may have a slow journey home because of collisions both east and west bound on the M56 causing traffic congestion.
About 4.45pm today (Easter Monday) there were reports of one lane being blocked west-bound heading away from Runcorn towards Chester, between J12 A557 (Runcorn) and J14 A5117 (Hapsford), following a multi-vehicle accident leading to queueing traffic.
Meanwhile, at the same time but on the other side of the carriageway, heading east-bound, there were reports of one lane blocked, heading away from Chester towards Runcorn, and queueing traffic due to an accident between J15 (M53) and J14 A5117 (Hapsford).
The BBC Travel website is describing both incidents as ‘severe’.
