A family has paid tribute to a loved one killed in a road accident who had only recently got engaged.

Andrew Beddows , 32, an ex-pupil of Bishop Heber High School in Malpas , died after his green BMW 320 left the carriageway and collided with a tree at Quoisley Bridge on the A49, near Tushingham , on Thursday, January 14, at about 8.50pm.

Mr Beddows, from the Nantwich area, was a self-employed mechanic at DA Roberts in Grindley Brook. He sadly died at the scene .

His family said in a tribute issued by police: “Andrew’s death has left us all devastated. He leaves behind his parents Edward and Peggie, who he adored, his older brother Paul, who he always looked up to, his sister-in-law Kelly and nieces Evelyn and Annie, who were a big part of his life.

Recently engaged

“He also leaves his fiancée Rachel Burleigh, who he recently proposed to in her home town of Liverpool on her birthday, and step daughter Mollie, who he had lots of fun with.”

The statement continued: “Andrew attended Bishop Heber High School in Malpas. He then followed in his father’s footsteps by becoming an excellent mechanic. He was self-employed at DA Roberts – he enjoyed his time there doing the job he loved best with his mates who he always had a good laugh with on a daily basis.

“Andrew was fun-loving, witty and always the life and soul of the party. He was loving, happy and would always help anyone in need. He always put a smile on our faces, which we will desperately miss.

“We appeal to anyone who might have information about the incident or was in the vicinity of the A49 on the night to please contact the police as we are desperate to find out what happened.”
